Our Brand StoryFrom Theatre to Garden.
Oliver Charles Gardens is a story of finding roots and legacy, shaped by decades of experience in storytelling and stage lighting.
Our brand, Pantone Winter Bloom, features a rich, dark magenta tone—warm, sophisticated, and accented with gold embroidery of our signature reminiscent of front-of-house curtains in a Matcham-designed theatre at Newcastle Theatre Royal, where Oliver studied theatre production.
This symbolises the beginning of a garden design journey—crafting outdoor spaces with creativity, professionalism, and individuality, where every space tells its own story.
Like directors, we delve into the writer’s words, while the actors discover the characters within the play. As garden designers, we learn clients’ desires and shape their space to live in harmony with plants.
Transforming stagecraft into garden-making is a process, a craft, and a legacy woven through space, people, and plants. Each plant is chosen to create a scene that evolves with the seasons, like stage lighting that tells the story of a play—pulling focus, and creating a sense of mystery and theatre throughout the space.
With trees as the lead actors with an ensemble of roses, shrubs, perennials and bulbs planted in harmony, each garden tells a story throughout the year—inviting you to enjoy every act, every season, every day.
With sculpture and hard landscaping materials telling their own story, their origins and their purpose, the setting in which the garden custodians live out the laughter and drama with friends and family in their own stage of memories captured amongst nature.
