Oliver Roberts
Director and Designer

Trained in theatre and media production and with over 20 years of experience, Oliver is a theatre professional who brings bold and dramatic perspectives to garden design. He began in stage lighting at the National Theatre, freelanced in London and Manchester, and contributed to productions transferring to Broadway and the West End, with notable designs including Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie. He later joined the BBC, where he worked on live broadcasts including Live8 in Hyde Park, VE Day 60th Anniversary in Trafalgar Square, the Queen's Golden Jubilee at Buckingham Palace in London, and the Brit Awards.

Drawing on his production background, he has now connected theatre to landscape and garden design. This unique insight enables Oliver to apply spatial awareness, creativity, narrative, and professionalism to his transition from stage to garden.

With over 5 years' experience in horticulture, Oliver has worked in maintenance gardening, landscaping, and plant retail in London and Norfolk. And in 2025, he combined his horticultural and event experience at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival, echoing his earlier high-profile work at the National Theatre and BBC.

Oliver has always been out in nature from building dens to falling out of trees when he was younger to connecting to the outdoors walking and camping in his adult life.

Garden design is the natural step combing his theatrical creativity to the outdoors with his need for nature.

Oliver continues to develop his passion for garden design through CPD training with the British Academy of Garden Design and industry affiliates. He is a member of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).
